In this graceful depiction of the Holy Family's Flight from Egypt, this luminary is a gentle reminder of another part of the nativity story. It offers a stunning testimony to the craftsmanship of the Nicarguan artisans from Women of the Cloud Forest. This beautiful ceramic luminary is handcrafted in a family workshop in the community of San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua. The lovely designs are etched by hand using a sharpened bicycle spoke. Each luminary is created out of local clay, turned on a kick wheel, hand-painted, and wood-fired in a beehive-shaped kiln.
