Touchingly simple and incredibly beautiful, the Nativity Stenciled Luminary is a stunning testimony to the craftsmanship of the Nicarguan artisans from Women of the Cloud Forest. This beautiful ceramic luminary is handcrafted in a family workshop in the community of San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua. The graceful designs are etched by hand using a sharpened bicycle spoke. Each luminary is created out of local clay, turned on a kick wheel, hand-painted, and wood-fired in a beehive-shaped kiln.
Light an aromatherapy tea light candle, a string of electric lights, or a battery-powered tea light to bring about a sense of calm. When you invite one of these masterfully created ceramic luminaries into your home or when you share it as a gift, you are also offering a place to share the stories of the artisans in Nicaragua whose livelihoods and futures depend upon your thoughtfulness.
